2013 Annual Board Meeting

Highlights of Meeting

The RWP Annual meeting was held on October 23, 2013 - Called to Order at 6:02pm

Report on Annual Board Meeting - October 23rd, 2013 - There were 4 Board members, one Ameri-tec representative and 17 very welcome condo owners present at the meeting held in the Owners Club Room beginning at 6:02 p.m.

Minutes of the last Board meeting were approved as well as a positive President/Treasurer's Report. Our total financial positions are all very positive.

Highlights of Meeting:

               Debra Taddeo, President
               Tom Nicholson, Vice President
               Rick Stillwell, Treasurer
               Ross Smarto, Secretary
               John Matuska, Director

               Tracy Morris, Assistant Secretary

Please welcome Rick Stillwell as our newest Board member, elected as our Treasurer. Rick brings experience from previous boards and has already been an asset to the board.

We would also like to Thank Trina Fisk for an outstanding job as Treasurer for the past 3 years. Trina has been watching over our finances and has done a great job. She has been a very dedicated Treasurer for The RWP and devoted a lot of her personal time in keeping up with our finances. We will miss her in 2014.

  • Grounds Committee was formed: Rich Taddeo, Chair; Volunteers: Tom Nicholson, Doug Patton, Rick Stillwell
  • Boat Committee was formed: Tom Nicholson, Chair; Volunteers: Doug Patton, Rick Morris, John Matuska
  • Minutes from September were Approved and submitted. (See Attached)
  • Vote on banning of Pit Bulls - was struck down after discussion from the residents & Board. Considering we have a 25 lb. weight limit on all dogs, we would ultimately not allow this type of dog at The RWP. Since they are generally over the 25 lb. weight limit anyway. If they are found on the property -- a fine will be imposed due to the weight limit not the breed of dog.
  • The Board scheduled our next Regular Board Meeting for November 21st at 8:30am in the OCR.
  • Meeting was Adjourned at
Grounds Committee:
Just a note on the importance of our Grounds Committee. The RWP is very fortunate to have such an active Grounds Committee who donate so much of their time. They make sure our building is kept up to the high standards it demands...and help keep it beautiful and sound. They have replaced almost all of our original contractors, which have given us, not only more reliable services, but along with your BOD,they have saved the Association over $223,600 yearly and a one-time $14,850 for 2013.

Please read The Special Report to see what your BOD and Grounds Committee have accomplished for 2013.

Membership Discussion: Tom Davis asks if we should increase the reserves in order to mitigate possible assessments to the homeowners if we incurred damage from a large hurricane  Scott Vignery felt we are in good shape as we will have a total of $50K available in reserves by year end, but Tom Davis felt that $150k would likely be needed to cover major damage and he would like the board to think about that possibility of increasing the reserve.

Randy Kilgore brought up the Pit Bull vote and suggested that we should not discriminate against one particular breed of dog. It was then discussed, that our 25 lb Pet Weight Limit should cover anyone bringing in any pit bulls, as they are over 25 lbs anyway. The vote to ban Pit Bulls was striked from the record.

Meeting Adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
